It may not rank with Lincoln and Douglas, but “The Great Gay/Straight Comedy Debate” is certainly timely. Comedians Jason Stuart and Jeff Wayne go mano-a-mano-a-microphone in a program intended to mine humor from mutual apprehension. Wayne is the author of a Limbaughlike CD, It’s OK to Be a White Male, and claims a bond with Orange County Republican firebrand Robert Dornan. On the distaff side, Stuart is the star of the one-man show, Just Out of the Closet…Jealous?, and likens himself to Cher. Together, the pair may provide as many tart barbs as theBentsen/Quayle confrontation. At 8:30 p.m. tonight-Thursday; at 8:30 & 10:30 p.m. Saturday & Sunday at the Improv, 1140 Connecticut Ave. NW. $10-12. (202) 296-7008. (DN)
