MAY 28
Each year, Wolf Trap Farm Park is transformed into Dublin on the Potomac for the Greater Washington Ceili Club’s “19th Annual Washington, D.C., Irish Folk Festival.” The festivities are divided in two parts: The afternoon program of small concerts and workshops features Cherish the Ladies (pictured, a wonderful all-female ensemble playing traditional ballads and dance tunes), Celtic Thunder, Andy Irvine, the Séamus Egan Band, and others. The evening concert is hosted by Fiona Ritchie (producer of National Public Radio’s Thistle & Shamrock program) and stars boisterous Celtic-rockers Wolfstone, Reeltime, a “step dancing spectacular,” Danny Doyle, and James Keene, Paddy Keenan, and John Doyle in a “Tribute to Dublin.” The afternoon events run from noon-5 p.m.; the evening concert starts at 8 p.m. at Wolf Trap Filene Center, 1624 Trap Rd., Vienna. $8-16.
