For years R.L. Burnside and Junior Kimbrough never played their raw, minimal, blues anywhere but at house parties and Junior’s own church-turned-bar in northern Mississippi. But now that the band’s four-year-old record label, Fat Possum, is getting major-label distribution, “The Fat Possum Mississippi Juke Joint Caravan” is hitting nightclubs everywhere. Joining the two sixtysomethings will be a new Possum signee, 24-year-old David Thompson, whose upcoming debut reportedly stirs some funk into his 12-bar brew. At 9 p.m. at Tornado Alley, 11319 Elkin St., Wheaton. $10. (301) 929-0795. (Steve Kiviat)
