Bill Clinton has been worrying a lot recently about his relevance in the age of Newt. The prez might want to take a break from his agonizing to attend “Leaders of the House Over Two Centuries.” The day-long conference should reassure Clinton that history is on his side: In the long run, presidents are remembered and speakers are forgotten (who was Jim Wright?). Gingrich, former President Gerald Ford, and former House Minority Leader Robert Michel top the bill. The program begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Mumford Room of the Library of Congress’ James Madison Building, 1st & Independence Ave. SE. FREE. (202) 707-1513. (David Plotz)
