“Abuse me, abuse me,” howlsMelissa Ferrick at the end of “Willing to Wait,” the title song of her new album. If all these songs featured the leaden satire of “Gotta Go Now,” that offer might be tempting, but about half these folk, folk-rock, or occasionally rock tunes are sharp enough to give the listener hope for Ferrick’s songwriting—if not for the love affairs chronicled in songs like “I Am Done” and “Til You’re Dead.” At 9:30 p.m. at the Republic Gardens, 1355 U St. NW. $5. (202) 232-2710. (MJ)
