MAY 24

Moby aspires to more than old-school techno wizardry. For Everything Is Wrong, the self-styled vegetarian/Christian/spiritualist uses an assortment of computers, traditional and high-tech instruments, and guest vocalists on 13 cuts that range from ambient to industrial to house to dancehall reggae to plain old techno. Though Everything‘s been hailed by the Village Voice as an instant classic, I have yet to warm to the somewhat dilletantish disc. Decide for yourself when Moby performs with Senser at 8:30 p.m. at the Black Cat, 1831 14th St. NW. $12. (202) 667-7960. (Steve Kiviat)
