IN “DUNGEONS AND DRAG Queens” (The District Line, 4/28), an article about a fetish festival, a quote was attributed to a false name. I attended the event; and upon being interviewed by a reporter for your publication, gave the name of an associate and a friend, Steve Nickerson. I was wrong. I request that you set the record straight.

I used a false name. In using the name of a real person, who would never be associated with such an event, and whom I should know would find such an event offensive, I was wrong. My action, though not meant to be damaging or hurtful, was, and I am sorry.

Careless, thoughtless, and inconsiderate actions always have repercussions. This action has caused embarrassment and anger.
