Jude Taylor began his career as a blues singer, sitting in with the likes of Clifton Chenier and doing a stint as Buckwheat Zydeco’s featured vocalist. Taylor didn’t pick up the accordion until 1986, when he founded his own outfit, the Burning Flames. On Best of Zydeco, the Flames’ latest release, Taylor’s warm, church-rooted delivery enlivens his outfit’s standard Louisiana-bar-band zydeco and blues. Beginners’ workshop dance at 8 p.m., music at 9 p.m. tonight at Glen Echo Park’s Spanish Ballroom, 7300 MacArthur Blvd., Glen Echo. $10; tomorrow at 6 p.m. at the Cherry Hill Park Clubhouse, 9800 Cherry Hill Rd., College Park. $10.
