I FEEL COMPELLED TO respond to reader David Husar’s ridiculous suggestion (The Mail,4/14) that, regarding the massacre at Luby’s in Killeen, Texas, the gunman could have been stopped had one of the restaurant’s patrons been armed.

What does Husar think is the more likely scenario: 1.) A lunatic walks into a restaurant intending to kill as many people as possible, and an armed patron succeeds in killing the gunman; or 2.) an armed patron gets pissed off because someone looked at him wrong, bumped him, or took his parking spot, and uses his gun to shoot another patron? I think you only need to open the newspaper to find the answer.
