The moments when Allied troops first glimpsed the horror of the Nazi concentration camps—and when the camps’ surviving victims first glimpsed the possibility of release—are recaptured in Nightmare’s End: The Liberation of the Camps, a documentary Rex Bloomstein made for the U.K.’s Channel 4. The film, which combines the vivid reminiscences of veterans with reportedly striking archival footage, was hailed as unforgettable in Britain. The director will be on hand for this U.S. premiere at 6 p.m. at the Kennedy Center’s American Film Institute Theater. $6. (202) 785-4601. (Mark Jenkins)
