Both have roots in Yemen and sometimes sing in Hebrew, but Israeli (via the Bronx) singer/songwriter/percussionist Noa is no Ofra Haza; her exotic coloration derives more from Broadway than theMagreb. On the songs that strip away the show-bizzy flourishes, though, her voice is lucid and luminous.
