For this tour they’re billed as “old school funk,” but Cameo and the Gap Band‘s biggest crossover hits were actually sort of new wave: The former’s “Word Up” assimilated the spare electronic sound and mechanical-man beats of Gary Numan, while the latter’s “Party Train” was the song Talking Heads always hoped Bernie Worrell would show them how to write. Speaking of crossover, Teena Marie also appears at this show, which begins at 7 p.m. at Constitution Hall, 18th & D Sts. NW. $28.50. (202) 628-4780. (Mark Jenkins)
