Rich Hall‘s latest book, Self-Help for the Bleak, is both a very funny parody and an almost-rational-sounding approach to life, built around the concept of the “Four Tires of Living.” Hall is big on cars. Big cars. And Big America—the kind you can’t hardly find anymore. He’s a visionary, but his is a vision of a vanishing world. That’s probably why he’s so bleak. But his despondency is our pleasure, for the lousier he feels, the funnier he is. Tonight at 8:30 & 10:30 p.m.; Saturday at 7, 9, & 11 p.m. at Comedy Cafe, 1520 K St. NW. $12. (202) 638-5653.
