In what seems like another example of District officials sucking up to their new Republican overlords, At-Large Councilmember Linda Cropp introduced legislation last week that would impose a limit on the number of children welfare recipients could have. The bill also reduces benefits to unwed teen mothers who do not live with an adult or regularly attend school. Cropp says her bill promotes “individual accountability, encourages work, and supports family stability.”
