Attendees are asked to bring note pads, demos, and lyric sheets to local tunesmith Steve Key’s Country Music Songwriting Seminar. Bringing a rhinestone-studded Nudie jacket and a birth certificate from a W.Va. coal town wouldn’t hurt either. Key—whose “33, 45, 78 (Record Time)” appeared on Kathy Mattea’s Lonesome Standard Time—discusses the art of crafting country tunes at 3 p.m. at Borders, 1801 K St. NW. Admission is FREE, but, due to the popularity of Key’s August seminar, pre-registration is required. For reservations call (202) 466-2152. (Dave McKenna)
