Throughout its 25-years-plus life span, Brooklyn-based Haitian compas band Tabou Combo has undergone various sound and membership changes while staying fresh and up-to-date. Adding rock, funk, and a variety of Afro-Caribbean styles into its always danceable guitar-, drum-, and keyboard-rooted traditional mix, this influential unit has won over fans from a wide cross-section of international musical genres such as souk and merengue without watering down its musical style.
