Israel’s first ambassador to the United Nations, ambassador to the U.S. during the 1956 war in Suez, and foreign minister during the Six-Day War in 1967 and the Yom Kippur War in 1973, Abba Eban has better credentials than almost anyone on the planet to discuss the recent breakthroughs in Israeli/Palestinian relations. Now a visiting professor at George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs, the avuncular statesman lectures on the 1993 Mideast negotiations at 4:30 p.m. at GWU’s Marvin Theater, 800 21st St. NW.
