Despite recent legislation banning them from Metro stations, buskers remain an audible presence in District street life, from the Hare Krishna rock band on the Mall (which sounds suspiciously like Toad the Wet Sprocket) to the saxophonist who’s practically a fixture outside the Hard Rock Cafe. The second annual Hungry for Music: An Evening of D.C. Area Street Musicians features eight buskers as well as other local musicians in a concert benefiting the Coalition for the Homeless. At 8 p.m. at George Washington University’s Lisner Auditorium, 730 21st St. NW. $8-12. (202) 994-6460. (DP)
