If it’s September, Edsel must be on Dutch East. The local post-hardcore quartet, previously represented by releases on DeSoto, Simple Machines, and Merkin, now has a (white vinyl) single on Grass, one of the many imprints of the Long Island-based Dutch East India Trading. Both sides feature midtempo flows of thick, distorted guitar, but “Buckle” is the pretty one, complete with near-singalong refrain; “Stane” is jumpier, noisier, and more enigmatic, the half-buried anecdote that accompanies its feedbacked vamp unresolved at the song’s faded-out conclusion in Bridgeport, Ct. Dutch East’s address is P.O. Box 800, Rockville Centre, NY 11571-0800.
