SEPTEMBER 29

At age 22, Midori is already in the second decade of her career, and continues to burn on the Stradivarius (hers is a 1722 “Jupiter”). Not long after the release of her splendid Encore!, the virtuoso performs with the Philadelphia Orchestra under the direction of first-season Musical Director Wolfgang Sawallisch. Included on the evening’s program is Sibelius’ Violin Concerto, whose rhapsodic first movement, romantic second, and virtuosic finale and coda should shine in the young violinist’s hands. Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. $28.50-44.50. (202) 467-4600. (TJ Edwards)
