We value your support now more than ever.

All year we’ve been covering the issues that matter most to you—the pandemic, the election, policing, housing, and more—and now our end of year membership campaign is here. Will you support our work to ensure we can bring you the same informative local reporting in 2021?

If you’re still nostalgic over that almost-disintegrated 1983 Siouxsie sticker on your leather, you might check out the mesmeric music of Opium Den. This Boston quartet stops short of transporting listeners to Kubla Khan’s stately pleasure dome; still, it achieves a haunting quality through minor-key guitar flourishes, vocalist Annette Kramer’s sustained notes, and drumming by Mike Demma, mysteriously credited with “sounds” in liner notes to Diary of a Drunken Sun. Tonight’s show may also be your last chance to catch soon-to-be-splitsville headliners Strange Boutique. Ultracherry Violet opens at 9:15 p.m. at the 9:30 Club, 930 F St. NW. $8.
