While its mid-’80s work was arguably old-school heavy metal’s best and last gasp, Accept never managed to achieve the popularity it deserved—perhaps because vocalist Udo Dirkschneider’s lyrics seemed to be celebrating homosexuality. (Where satanism, brutality, and misogyny may be OK, the average metalhead can’t abide a queer.) Objection Overruled, the German quartet’s first serious effort in six years, showcases effective riffs as well as a heightened awareness of hard rock’s prejudicial mores: On the album’s lone sex-romp tune, Dirkschneider recounts his coital escapades with…a woman. At 8:30 p.m. at the Bayou, 3135 K St. NW. $8-12. (202) 333-2897. (Stephen Kuhn)
