NOVEMBER 12-20
More than 140 paintings, drawings, constructions, photographs, and sculptures by some of Washington’s best artists go on view for a week starting with Friday’s opening of the Washington Project for the Arts’ benefit auction exhibit. Approximately 100 works will be available for bidding by silent auction through Nov. 20, the night of the gala benefit and live auction hosted by painter Bill Dunlap. The exhibition provides an opportunity to survey some of the most attractive and accomplished art in Washington, and, for the collector, it offers the chance to pick up some bargains: Look for pieces by interesting newcomers as well as surprises from Washington old-timers. The works will be on view through Nov. 20 on the 12th floor of Liberty Place, 325 7th St. NW. Admission to the exhibit is FREE; tickets for the gala are $75. (202) 347-4813. (Martha McWilliams)
