Another pop-rock band from Zoo’s endangered-species enclosure, the Spelvins come on bluesy with the opener to their tidily tuneful, tastefully eclectic Whichever Train Comes, the unbluesily titled “The Girl That Radiates That Charm,” but damned if the quartet doesn’t sound a bit like the Housemartins on “Looking for a Cab in the Rain” and then mix backward guitars and G-L-O-R-I-A organ into its song with a Dylan title, “Bringing It All Back Home.” With openers Live at 8:45 p.m. at the 9:30 Club, 930 F St. NW. $15. (202) 393-0930. (MJ)
