You won’t find any dancehall styling on Trod On, this year’s Culture release from Heartbeat—the album was actually recorded in ’79. Instead, Trod On finds the venerable reggae harmony trio moving in the opposite direction: Its 10 tracks are followed by excerpts from a grounation, a gathering of Rastas (here, Culture and Count Ossie and the Mystic Revelation of Rastafari) who come together to reason accompanied by the distinctive, unyielding heart-thumps of Nyabingi drumming. At 9 p.m. at the Roxy Showcase Club, 1214 18th St. NW. $12. (202) 296-9292. (Alona Wartofsky)
