There’s still time to nominate local icons for Best of D.C.
I FOUND “THE SECRET Life of Jeb Alexander” (11/5) to be very thought-provoking. I enjoyed reading about the experiences of another gay man who lived many decades ago. Keep up the good work.
Washington City Paper, especially this year with two gay-related feature stories, has emerged as an excellent alternative to the Washington Blade, the city’s only gay weekly newspaper. While the Blade seems to concentrate on instructing us on political correctness and often turns a blind eye to objective reporting, City Paper has chosen to include thoughtful pieces that actually explore relevant aspects of gay life and inform the reader about how we gays are actually living.
I hope that now that you have scooped them for the third time this year, the Blade will finally wake up and smell the coffee. I am hungry to learn about gay life and the experiences of others—how they differ from mine, etc.
I congratulate you on your choice of featuring the diary entries. Once again, your coverage of gay-related topics has sparked discussion among my friends. I hope that I can continue to look forward to similar explorations of gay life in the future.
