There’s still time to nominate local icons for Best of D.C.
JOHN F. BANZHAF HAD A very critical letter in Washington City Paper (The Mail, 12/10). It was quite fair-minded of you to print the letter, but it was followed by a short “The Editor Replies,” which seemed a bit odd. It said that Banzhaf may be “better at operating the broadcast function of his fax machine than he is at litigating.”
Perhaps this was meant to be humor, as all who know anything about Banzhaf know that he is quite adept at litigation. He has won many victories for women’s rights and especially for the rights of nonsmokers through his organization, Action on Health and Smoking. Again, I’d like to commend City Paper for printing the nasty letter by Banzhaf.
