Too often, the semimelodic pop and speedy, semituneful punk on U.K. quartet Boyracer‘s More Songs About Frustration and Self-Hate sounds both sloppy and formulaic; however, a few cuts reveal enough harmonic sparkle to make this Slumberland outfit’s D.C. debut worthy of interest. Opening are local Slumberland popsters the Ropers, and glo-worm, featuring the sweetly fragile vocals of Pam Berry, at 8:30 p.m. at the 9:30 Club, 930 F St. NW. $5. (202) 393-0930. (Steve Kiviat)
