There’s a reason the recent SF Weekly profile of Fifth Column guitarist GB Jones was titled “Lipstick Terrorist.” The outspoken artist/filmmaker/’zine queen/queer feminist doesn’t hesitate to offend, and the band’s latest, 36C, features the no-nonsense take on women’s issues you’d expect from an album named after a bra size. The disc’s “All Women Are Bitches,” for instance, depicts the father-to-son transmission of misogyny, while “Don’t” observes how women’s freedom is restricted by physical vulnerability. Not that “Canada’s 1 dyke band” lacks a sense of humor: The trio’s self-released debut was, after all, titled To Sir With Hate. Besides, anyone who, like Jones, puts out a fanzine dedicated to the vilification of William S. Burroughs can’t be all bad. At 9 p.m. at Planet Fred, 1221 Connecticut Ave. NW. $7. (202) 331-3733.
