NOVEMBER 10

Both the survivors and saviors of New York hardcore, Sick of It All has persevered—through the collapse of its scene and a much-publicized incident involving a kid wielding a gun and wearing one of the band’s T-shirts—to sign with a major label and make a new album. The speedy, snarly Scratch the Surface sounds pretty much like the quartet’s previous discs, which is some sort of triumph. And don’t worry: It does sound like they’re singing “Sieg Heil,” but it’s really “Cease Fire.” With Strife and Damnation at 7:30 p.m. at the 9:30 Club, 930 F St. NW. $9. (202) 393-0930. (Mark Jenkins)
