Black 47 is arguably the most famous bar band in America. Even though the Irish-American rockers’ unexpected hit “Funky Ceili” has made them about as well-known as, um, the Boomtown Rats, the band still plays regular gigs at Paddy Reilly’s in New York City. Those deterred by media harping on lead singer Larry Kirwan’s strong resemblance to Cracker’s David Lowery should be reminded that after a few pints of Guinness, everyone looks the same.
