The normal laws of economics do not apply to Starbucks Coffee, the Seattle-based empire of espresso. After a location on Dupont Circle proved hugely successful, a second store appeared a few blocks north on Connecticut Avenue. Apparently the brewmeisters don’t worry about creating a java-jaded area. In mid-December, yet a third Starbucks will open nearby: at 1301 Connecticut Ave. NW, only two blocks south of the circle.
