Ahead of its time when it was published (privately) in the ’20s, Joseph Moncure March’s The Wild Party has subsequently inspired everyone from William Burroughs to Merchant-Ivory. Now Maus creator Art Spiegelman has joined the fan club, providing a new edition of March’s debauched tale-in-verse with jauntily ominous wood-blocky illustrations.
