Hollywood has never ever ever made a biopic that bore the slightest resemblance to the person supposedly being profiled. That said, some are more entertaining than others. One of the more enjoyable efforts is The Glenn Miller Story. The lush MGM technicolor is a perfect complement to Miller’s lush music—add the appealing gloss of stars Jimmy Stewart and June Allyson, and you’ve got an agreeably fattening sensory treat.
