Sex and Christmas are so rarely mentioned together (though the European version of It’s a Wonderful Life reportedly includes some steamy scenes between Jimmy and Donna that were cut from the domestic release). Bill Mumy corrects this oversight on this two-song CD, which also sports a festively attractive cover by Love and Rockets artist Jaime Hernandez. The title song is a loping, jazzy riff that barely makes it to double-entendre with Taylor moaning lyrics about warming Santa’s north pole. The “flip-side” track, “Holiday Affair,” is an up-tempo, pop/rock prescription for beating the XXXmas blahs. Producer/writer/performer Mumy clearly enjoys such cheeky juvenalia—he’s also the author of the anthem “Party in My Pants.” After watching the Rudolph and Charlie Brown specials, give this a spin to clear the palate.
