One of the original folk divas, Judy Collins has a wistful quality of voice that shades even the most exuberant material with sadness. For that reason, her Christmas album Come Rejoice!, while beautifully rendered, tends toward the lachrymose, especially and appropriately on “Song for Sarajevo,” a paean to the pain of that brutalized town. Not recommended except for those immune to seasonal affective disorder. Warning: The song list includes “Amazing Grace.”
