TUESDAY
The Sly and Robbie of their time, the Meters provided the “second-line” rhythm behind a decade of New Orleans hits by the likes of Lee Dorsey and Ernie K-Doe, not to mention their own “Cissy Strut.” Since keyboardist Arthur and sometime conga player Cyril went on to join their brothers in a band, Neville has been the best-known Meters surname. The guy to watch out for, though, is drummer Ziggy Modeliste. With Trouble Funk and Beat Sugar at 10:30 p.m. at the 9:30 Club, 815 V St. NW. $20. (202) 393-0930.
