SUNDAY

Tonight, former Holy Roller Joe Aronstamn hosts a freewheeling multimedia event at the Black Cat. His new band B-Benders will play, as will Quiet Please, whose members either were once in Edsel and Vile Cherubs or are currently in Flagships and New Wet Kojak. Before, in between, and after their sets, there will be readings by NYC Grand Slam Champ Nuyorican poet Xavier Cavazos and D.C.’s own Jeffrey McDaniel. Interspersed with all of this are several video shorts, among them Eric C.’s sex-work-funded Connie Sellecca’s Recipe, an oddly moving class-lust story inspired by a rash of Potomac break-ins and James Schneider’s Oasis, which rightly understands that little under the sun is as scary as the sculpture of J. Seward Johnson Jr. At 8:30 p.m. at the Black Cat, 1831 14th St. NW. $3. (202) 667-7960.
