IN FEBRUARY 1995, THE
owners of Georgia Brown’s restaurant generously sponsored a reception for the D.C. Preservation League. They bore all the expenses of the event while the League kept all the proceeds. Georgia Brown’s is owned by the same corporation that owns Club Zei, referred to in John Cloud’s article, “Poor Image” (1/12). Having had such a rewarding experience with this corporation, I can only conclude that the House of Ruth’s experience with Club Zei was the result of an unfortunate misunderstanding.
