The “Jazz Vespers” series at All Souls Church offers good music without the smoke, drink minimums, bad seats, and other hassles one faces when trying to catch a visiting jazz act at a club. Today, nationally acclaimed poet Gaston Neal and saxophonist Fred Foss (formerly with the Lionel Hampton band), along with special guest musicians, present “Jazz Ritual” and other works. These D.C. residents promise a show of national proportions, proving that sometimes the grass is greenest in your own backyard. At 4 p.m. at All Souls Church, 16th and Harvard Sts. NW. FREE.
