OH, I REALLY MUST protest. Regardless of its lyrical merit, when James Lochart (“Worst Lines of the Year,” 2/2) and the numerous writers of previous letters to The Mail refer to “One of Us” as “Joan Osborne’s,” the credit (or blame) is misdirected. The person responsible for both the lyrics and the music is Eric Bazilian, erstwhile member of the Hooters. If the lyric is the subject of the award, it should go to the writer, shouldn’t it? Just checking, since no one else bothered.
