The personal and artistic marriage of legendary jazz vocalist Cleo Laine and masterful saxophonist and composer John Dankworth has lasted more than four decades. Their collaborations have consist-ently made music history—Laine is the only vocalist to have received Grammy nominations in the female pop, classical, and jazz categories. With “Cleo at Carnegie (10th Anniversary Concert),” she became the first British woman to win a vocal jazz Grammy. Laine possesses a natural flair for interpretation and a multi-octave range that travels fluidly between guttural contralto and lilting high soprano. The pair appears with the USAF Airmen of Note and String Orchestra at 3 p.m. at the DAR Constitution Hall, 18th & D Sts. NW. FREE. (202) 628-4780. CP
