An exotic epic, Ts Tserendorj and L. Sharadorj’s Saint in a Turbulent Age is a historical drama about a place and time few Westerners know. Set in 17th-century Mongolia, the film is an account of Zanabazar, a descendent of Genghis Khan who spent his life trying to unite the Mongol tribes into a Buddhist nation.
