“They want to socialize you,” warns second-generation grrrl-group Sleater-Kinney on its second album, the new Call the Doctor. Not to worry: This Olympia/Portland trio (named after the street it practices on) hasn’t lost the edge of its precursors, which include singer/guitarist Corin Tucker’s thrillingly strident Heavens to Betsy. Opening are Cold Cold Hearts, a retooled edition of the mighty Bratmobile, at 8:30 p.m. at the Black Cat, 1831 14th St. NW. $3. (202) 667-7960.
