Richmond’s Kepone has the East Coast and Midwest post-punk scenes covered. The trio has traversed the label map, making their way from the art-school town’s Tenderizer Records to Chicago’s Quarterstick for its first full-length CD, Skin. The ’poners should feel quite comfortable, then, in the midst of the harDCore crowd, especially since drummer Ed Trask called the District home for a short while. Local connections aside, though, with a sound similar to the best of the Dischord bands, Kepone will fit right in. With Arcwelder and Pee Shy at 9 p.m. at the Black Cat, 1841 14th St. NW. $6. (202) 667-7960. (Tina Plottel)
