CounterPunch editors Ken Silverstein and Alexander Cockburn don’t honor the sterling memory of the late Ron Brown. In their take-no-prisoners paperback, Washington Babylon, Silverstein and the Nation columnist flak the commerce secretary for his coziness with Baby Doc Duvalier and Guatemalan “death squad hirers.” Brown’s ugly affiliations are but a footnote in this equal-opportunity exposé, which flings fertilizer at neo-conservatives, neo-liberals, media hotshots, lobbyists, and hypocritical environment-boosters alike.
