Among the Holistic Health Expo’s 30 workshops, which feature everything from acupuncture to kinesiology, there will be a session on holistic animal care. Holists believe that cats and dogs—and humans—must each be viewed as an independent reality that can’t be comprehended by simply understanding its parts. To be sure, if you’re a fan of the Psychic Friends Network or believe in voodoo, this is the expo for you. For sane people who seek medical help when they’re really sick, however, the Expo is probably best for catching an exotic massage, as there’s quite a menu to choose from: Swedish Massage, Trager Work, Jin Shin Jyutsu, Deep Tissue Massage, and Shiatsu, among others. If you stay the whole day, you’ll likely not only learn the truth about cats and dogs, but about the lion’s share of holistic healers as well—quack, quack. The Expo runs from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel, 7801 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church. $5. (703) 620-9757. (Julie Wakefield)
