“Finders’ Keeper” (5/24), the story of the assault on Culpeper by the cult group called the Finders, although interesting, certainly was written with a slant favoring the group. Eddie Dean would have us believe that the group consists of a few harmless old men. That it is a utopian society of some sort.

However, the group’s founder, Marion D. Pettie, has refused to return the numerous assets of former members who had previously pooled their resources with the group. These former members had done this with the understanding that they could leave the group and get their money and property back at any time.

A utopian society? More like a criminal society.

Perhaps the article should have been titled not “Finders’ Keeper” but rather “Finders Keepers, Losers Weepers.”
