Why is it that whenever someone writes a letter about animal rights or vegetarianism they always have to crow about how much meat they’re going to eat?
As Tom LaRussa suggested in his response to Bridget Cross (The Mail, 6/14), would the children of restaurant owners really starve if a few menus got changed?
People don’t have to eat meat to survive. We may well be better off if chickens were revered for their good nature and simplicity.
What seems to be forgotten is that chickens are beautiful, sexy birds who can’t fly worth a darn. They deserve better treatment.
