There’s still time to nominate local icons for Best of D.C.

Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament, like his bandmates Stone Gossard and Mike McCready, has taken to doing his own thing. His side project, Three Fish, is the most eclectic of the bunch. Less hard-rocking than Brad and Mad Season, its sound is more like Neil Young leading the Grateful Dead (say, isn’t that band auditioning new frontmen?). It’ll be a sentence of boredom for some grunge fans but proof to others that there’s more to Ament than just being in a Top 40 band. Kristen Barry opens at 6 p.m. at the 9:30 Club, 815 V St. NW. $6. (202) 393-0390. (Tina Plottel)
